The WORD or the WORLD?

by David J. Stewart

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." -1st John 2:15,16

Increasingly in these apostate times, professed Christians are following the world instead of the Word of God. 1st Peter 2:2 tells us, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.” Without the Word of God, we CANNOT grow spiritually. We are living in a generation of malnourished believers who are spiritually anorexic, and deprived of spiritual vitamins and minerals.

Is it any wonder why professed Christians are going to concerts to hear unrepentant lesbians sing about the Lord. Sadly, many believers have more interest in Harry Potter, Charmed, and Bewitched than they do in the precious Word of God. The average believer today would rather watch Desperate Housewives or The Rosie O'Donnell Show than study their Bible. As a result, we've got a nation of spiritual weaklings, babies, and mutants.

Miss Steven is married to another woman and operates the nationwide ministry BALM (Born Again Lesbian Music). The whole CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) industry is of the Devil, because they're ALL tolerant of sin and false religion. It's high-time for professed Christians to start proclaiming the Truth of God's Word that homosexuality is a SIN! No open homosexual who prides herself publicly in sin should be honored.

I'm not trying to be unkind, sincerely. I am as much a hell-deserving sinner as anybody else. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned...” It's not about someone who's been overcome by sin; it's about someone who deliberately lives in sin, parades it, tries to justify sin; while simultaneously seeking acceptance from the Christian community. It is wickedness. 2nd Corinthians 6:14-17 teaches that there is no fellowship between light and darkness, between God and Satan. It is wrong to condemn anyone on a personal level for their sins (Romans 14:12-14; James 4:12; 5:9). However, according to Ephesians 5:11 it is our duty as believers to “refute” (Greek: elencho, meaning, “to expose”) all works of darkness. The purpose is not to be unkind; but rather, to promote morality and decency in public.

God save us from Hollywood Christianity. I know a woman who is always comparing everything to TV, because it has become her idol. It is spiritually detrimental for anyone to watch much TV, and in some cases any TV (depending on what you watch). It is tragic that many Christians are continually quoting Hollywood movies instead of the word of God. The TV, and America's weak pulpits, have produced a generation of worldly believers who are void of Biblical Christianity. It's difficult nowadays to discern professed Christians apart from the heathen world.

I visited a church some time ago where the pastor quoted Pat Robertson, Rick Warren, and Joel Osteen (all false prophets) in one sermon. The reason is because he is seeking spiritual guidance from today's apostate ministers and authors (all of which are promoting the unbiblical Ecumenical Movement, which is intended to become a vehicle to lead churches into one-world religion). I like to read old books from 100 years ago. What a difference in content! Today's books are authored by Modernist liberals.

A liberal (also leftist) is someone who rejects logical and Biblical standards, often for self-centered reasons. There are no coherent liberal standards; often a liberal is merely someone who craves attention, and who uses many words to say nothing. Liberalism began as a movement for individual liberties, but today is increasingly statist and, as in Europe, socialistic. Liberalism has changed over the years and degenerated into corruption.

Many of today's professed believers are only make-believers! They are not Christians at all. This is especially true in the field of so-called Christian entertainment. There is nothing as godless and heathen as today's so-called Christian Rock. The term “Christian rock” is a lie—there is NOTHING even remotely “Christian” about devilish rock-n-roll music. The church today has become worldly, and as a result the world is becoming “churchy.”

I have received several letters recently from believers who seek to justify their divorce. One man based his divorce on John 10:10, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” He asked me, “Doesn't God want us to be happy?” I wrote back and told him that the happiness he seeks is the SELFISH happiness which the world has to offer, and is only temporary.

The genuine happiness which God gives is eternal, and seeks no self-benefit in this world. The Apostle Paul was cast into prison, certainly no reason to be happy; yet he sang praises joyful unto his God. In Hebrews 11:25 we are told that Moses chose rather to “suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.” Moses was happy to give up the splendors of living in the royal palace, and rather to spend his life SUFFERING AFFLICTION. This is what made Moses happy.  Do you know why?  It's because Moses knew it was the RIGHT thing to do. Honoring one's wedding vows... “for better, for worse, 'til death do us part”... is the right thing to do.

That reminds me of something I heard years ago—the 3 rings of marriage: there's the engagement ring, and then there's the wedding ring, and finally there's the suffering! There's more truth to that statement than most wedded couples would care to fess up to I'm sure. Seriously, suffering is indeed a part of the Christian life. The Apostle Paul said that suffering IS A PART of being married, “But and if thou marry, thou... shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you” (1st Corinthians 7:28). I looked at my electric bill the other day and saw an advertisement to report any domestic abuse IMMEDIATELY. Folks, we're destroying each other in America. I mean, you can't even receive a utility bill anymore without propaganda being pushed in your face. No wonder women are divorcing their husbands at record levels.

The Bible teaches that there WILL BE trouble (and that's the exact word God used) in a marriage. It is unrealistic to expect that a marriage will not have troubles. Married couples need to stop listening to the heathen world, and start listening to the Word of God... “He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.” Divorce is a sin.

2nd Timothy 3:12 warns us, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” It is unrealistic to expect the Christian life to be all fun and games. People today are SELFISH, seeking what's best for them. The Bible states that those who live for Christ—those who take a stand against sin, those who share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, those who separate themselves from the wicked, those who expose Satan's works of darkness—WILL SUFFER.

There's something VERY WRONG with these televangelists who are raking in tens-of-millions of dollars in profits ever year. Do you think John the Baptist, if he were on national TV, would impress many people? Of course not. John would preach against everything I'm preaching against through this ministry: abortion, witchcraft, government evils, sinful pride, indifference, gambling, adultery, booze, dancing, evolution, et cetera. John the Baptist would never make it past the front door of the television studio.

Would to God America had a thousand John the Baptists. Where are the Billy Sundays? Where are the men who uncompromisingly preach against sin, men who uphold the inspired incontrovertible Word of God, men who love sinners with a passion—enough to tell them the truth of God's Word without apology?

May we as believers look to the WORD instead of the WORLD for guidance in these dark days. Nothing should be any more dear to a Christian than the Word of God. I love the King James Bible, and recommend that you DON'T use any other bibles, because they are corrupt. It's the same people who use the corrupt bibles who are going to listen to lesbians sing about God. Don't be deceived—the Devil is working relentlessly to corrupt all that is holy and good.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” —Proverbs 3:5,6

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” —John 17:17
